What
We Don’t Do
Not all recyclers are the same. The
environmental philosophy of “Rethink, Recycle,
Reuse” has been interpreted differently.
Some
recyclers take the approach that if they decide there
isn’t any value in a product then they discard
it or ship it elsewhere. That means they are potentially
dumping toxic electronics into domestic or offshore
landfills or using incinerators—polluting our
environment and exposing their clients to risk.
Sixty Minutes
recently exposed this dirty little recycling secret.

Why We Don’t Shred
Some recyclers use large industrial
shredders which produce 60 – 70% of recyclable
material. The low numbers are a result of cross contamination
of toxins, plastic, glass and metals which can not
be sold as a usable commodity. The remaining 30 –
40% of unusable material is dumped into a domestic
or offshore landfill.
